Inspiring the Future: Join Us in Creating a STEM Event to Showcase Aviation Careers

Airport Head of BD & Marketing, Helen Webb, recently attended a West of England Aerospace Forum (WEAF) event at Renishaw plc. This was for the Cheltenham and Gloucester aviation sector to discuss recruitment, early careers and STEM outreach (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).

The audience shared that their organisations are experiencing difficulty in recruiting. Many local people are drawn to roles in Bristol or are not even aware about the opportunities in aviation in this area, particularly the younger age groups. So, an idea was formed for Gloucestershire Airport to host a STEM engagement event for local schools, with interactive activities to show the opportunities for a career in aviation, particularly engineering.

The aim is to have this in spring 2025, and we are now looking for organisations to join a working group to help plan and be part of the STEM event.
