SAFEGUARDING - HELP KEEP OUR SKIES SAFE

The airspace around Gloucestershire Airport needs to be safeguarded during our opening hours, to allow the safe passage of air traffic – you can help ensure this happens. Please see below for more information.

Drones/Small Unmanned Aircraft (UAV)

If you are intending to operate a drone within the vicinity of the aerodrome please complete a Permit Form HERE and email to: safeguarding@gloucestershireairport.co.uk.

Applications must be submitted 5 days prior to drone operation. A permit fee of £35 applies and must be paid prior to any permit being issued.

Cranes

If you are intending to operate a crane within the vicinity of the aerodrome, please complete a Permit Form HERE and email to: safeguarding@gloucestershireairport.co.uk.

Applications must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the crane operation.

A permit fee of £300 applies for the issue of a standard crane permit. In the event of an external IFP Assessment being required a fee of £2000 will apply.

Safeguarding - Scale of changes

  • Drones - £35
  • Cranes (including all lifting equipment) - £300
  • Initial Planning applications - Free of charge
  • Development pre-application reviews (No IFP Assessment) - £200 an hour (estimate provided on application)
  • External IFP Assessments - £2000
  • Special Event safeguarding - no technical assessment required - from £2500
  • Special Event safeguarding - technical assessment required - price on request.
  • Aeronuatical studies / assessment (including wind turbines) - from £3000
  • Glint and Glare - Price on request.
