Castle Air Academy Launches New CPL(H)/IR Course

Castle Air Academy, based at Gloucestershire Airport, has recently launched the UK’s first fully integrated Commercial Pilot Licence (Helicopter) course which includes an Instrument Rating which is unprecedented in the rotary industry until now (CPL(H)/IR).

This new course means that those with no prior aviation experience wanting to achieve their CPL (H) can complete the 15-month programme and immediately become a commercial helicopter pilot with an Instrument Rating included.

Robin Gibson, Head of Training at Castle Air Academy said: “We recognised the growing demand for qualified helicopter pilots so added to our existing modular training and conversion programmes to offer an integrated course to ensure those that wanted to choose this career without any previous experience could become qualified as soon as possible, rather than a part-time option.”
